About Amir Lavie

Percussionist Amir Lavie, a native of Israel, has appeared in solo recitals, chamber music concerts and with various orchestras throughout the US, Europe and Israel.

Mr. Lavie has won numerous awards, including Israel’s Composers Association excellence award and the Manhattan School of Music concerto competition, giving the American premiere of Anders Koppel’s marimba concerto.

Mr. Lavie is principal percussionist of the Israel Symphony Orchestra, the official Israeli Opera orchestra. He has played under the batons of Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel, Kurt Mazur and Gustavo Dudamel.

Equally at home as a soloist, Mr. Lavie presented recitals at the Tel-Aviv Museum, the Israel Philharmonic , Hubbard Hall in New York City and at the Royal Academy of Music’s concert hall. He has performed in festivals such as the Spoleto festival, The Salzburg Festival and the Schleswig-Holstein music Festival.
