About Anat Nazarathy

Israeli Flautist Anat Nazarathy is currently residing in Basel, Switzerland, pursuing her second masters degree in specialized performance of early music in the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. In addition to her passion for early music and historical instruments, she has also established herself as an enthusiastic performer of contemporary music.

Anat has performed as soloist and chamber musician in new music festivals and concert series such as Zeiträme Basel (2017), Tirol Festival for New Music (2017), IMPULS Festival in Graz (2017), Nachtstrom in Gare du Nord, Basel (2016), the Israel Festival (2015) CEME – Contemporary Encounters Meitar Ensemble in Tel Aviv (2013) and more.

She has completed the Tedarim internship program for outstanding young musicians in contemporary music with Ensemble Meitar in Tel Aviv during the years 2013-2015.

Anat completed her bachelor’s degree in the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in the class of Prof. Yossi Arnheim, and her master’s degree in music performance in Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in the Class of Prof. Pirmin Grehl. In both degrees she was awarded the highest grade in her Final recital.

Anat was awarded many prizes and scholarships including the America Israel Cultural Foundation, the Siday Fellowship for Musical Creativity from the Jerusalem Institute for Contemporary Music, the Swiss Government Excellency Program, The Younes and Soraya Nazarian Scholarship Program for Outstanding Musicians in Chamber Music, The Dean’s Award for Excellence in the Jerusalem Academy for Music and Dance and second Prize in the Edwin Fischer Competition for the year 2016 in Lucerne, The third Prize in the North International Competition Sweden, The first Prize in IMKA International Competition in Sarajevo and more.
