Asaf Elkalai

Asaf Elkalai was born in Kerem Ben Zimra, and currently based in Tel Aviv, Israel. Graduated with honors MFA from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, BA with honors in Photography from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design Jerusalem, and Art Education Diploma from The Hebrew University. Today he teaches at Ashdod museum and works as a Social Projects Coordinator and Educational Studies Coordinator at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.
His works has been exhibited at The Israel Museum, Tel Aviv museum, Moby Museum of Bat – Yam, Municipal Gallery Arsenal, Poznan, Helena Rubinstein Pavilion for Contemporary Art, Gabirol Gallery, Tel Aviv Ticho House for Contemporary Art, Israel Museum , Inga Gallery, , Lanserhaus Museum, Eppan, Sotheby’s Gallery, London and more.
​Elkalai׳s works part of varied collections, as The Israel Museum collection, Tel-Aviv Museum collection, Knesset Collection and privates collections.
Elkalai has won many awards, including the prestigious Eluvik Award, the Young Artist Award from the Ministry of Culture and Sports, and more. He participated programs and residences as “Skowhegan” exclusive artist residency in Maine (USA), the FINE Artist in Residence at Pittsburgh (USA), the artist residency program of the Jewish Art Center at Buffalo (USA), “Investigate Ways of Living” by Andrea Zittel at California (USA), “Aesthetics and Bias” at Poznan (Poland), EAU & GAZ Artist Residency at Italy.
