Aviva Daum Marks

Aviva Daum Marks was born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium.
Upon completion of her studies at the St. Lucas Institute of Art, Aviva moved to Israel in 2012, where she continued her education and gained her BFA at the Department of Multidisciplinary Art of Shenkar College in Ramat Gan.
Aviva’s work is derived mainly of installations, sculptures and photography. The underlying themes of her works are influenced by her religious Jewish-Orthodox upbringing in Antwerp.
In her work, she uses humor and absurdity in order to create a whimsical outlook on the predominantly severe Jewish religious community.
Her move to Israel influenced her work by giving her a unique perspective of Israeli society. In recent years Aviva focuses on collaborations with different artists by bringing together different views and creating internal dialogues.
