The meaning of “Azul”, an art gallery in Tel Aviv, is “blue“ in Spanish. AZUL Gallery is a young art gallery placed in an intimate and unique space within an industrial/urban setting. The gallery was established in 2015 and is located in the exciting Florentin neighborhood in South Tel Aviv, within the compound of a textile label-printing company. The gallery brings a fresh breeze to the energetic art scene that is flourishing in the old industrial zone of South Tel Aviv, the center of Israel’s art scene. The gallery offers an alternative space for artists and art professionals. In addition to changing exhibitions, the gallery is a meeting point for art talks, lectures and workshops.
The gallery encourages artists to create a dialogue with the local community as well as other art studios and selected galleries located in growing numbers in the Florentin neighborhood and adjacent streets. AZUL gallery aspires to expand the artistic dialogue to the international art scene, initiating cooperation with artists and curators abroad, thus creating a stimulating gathering site connecting cultures and people.
