Ben Yakoubov
Ben Yakoubov was born in 2003 in Ashkelon, Israel. He has received the America-Israel Cultural Foundation’s scholarship for his piano lessons in the Ashkelon Conservatory. Ben studies at the “Kefar Silver” high school.
In the second grade, Ben started his piano studying in the music center of “Yad Mordechai” alongside his drumming lessons. In 2012 Ben started practicing piano lessons in the Ashkelon Conservatory under Tamara Yusman. He later won a Diploma in the piano contest “Red Sea Joys” in the city Eilat.
In 2013, Ben won second place in the piano contest “Psanter Le Tamid” (translated: “Piano Forever”) for ages 6-11 in the Ashdod, Israel. In 2013, Ben performed alongside the Chamber Orchestra of Ashkelon in a concluding concert of the Ashkelon Conservatory.
Throughout the summer of 2013 Ben performed together with the Ashkelon Chamber Orchestra as a soloist in the concert series “Sogrim Et Ha’Kaaitz”(translated: “Ending the Summer”. Also in 2013, recital in the Ashkelon “Arts” School & the “Hofim” school in “Yad Mordechai” Kibbutz.
In 2014, recital in the Ashkelon “Arts” School. Later that year Ben appeared as a soloist alongside the Ashkelon Chamber Orchestra as a salute to the Israel Defense Forces soldiers. He also performed in front of children in the Mamad (reinforced security room) inside the Ashkelon office of the Education Ministry. In September Ben appeared in the Palace of Culture of the city Ashkelon in a concluding concert of the Ashkelon Conservatory. He also performed alongside the Symphonic Orchestra of Ashdod in the “Monart” center in the “Psanter Le Tamid” concert that was held after the winners were declared. He also performed in the Palace of Culture in Ashkelon in a concluding concert of the Ashkelon Conservatory.
In November 2014 he won 2nd place in an international festival for young pianists named after Aldona Dvarionaitė in Lithuania. In December 2014 Ben took part in the national piano contest “Psanter Le Tamid” and won first place in the ages 6-11.
In June 2015 he was invited to participate in the “Moscow Meets Friends” by an international foundation named after Vladimir Spivakov. Ben was the only Israeli participant attending the event.
In 2015 Ben performed together with the Symphonic Orchestra of Ashdod in the “Psanter Le Tamid” concert that was held after the winners were declared. In December 2015 he won 3rd place in “Psanter Le Tamid” in the ages 12-15. Later he performed as soloist with the Israeli Chamber Orchestra with Ariel Zuckerman as the conductor in the concert series “Young Soloists”.
In 2016 he appeared in a series of concerts/recitals in Kiryat Gat, Ashdod and Ashkelon and Jazz festival “Globus”.
In April 2016 he won 1st place in the international internet competition “Music Competition Belgrade – Serbia” in the age 12 division.
In June 2016 he auditioned to receive a scholarship from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation. The same month, he appeared as a soloist with the Symphonic Orchestra of Haifa with Amos Talmon as conductor, Mendelssohn Concerto No. 1.
In 2017 he attended a piano contest in Switzerland named after Vladimir Kraimev.
