    Dana Ziv was born in Haifa, Israel in 1991, and moved to the USA in 2000 at the age of 8. During her school years she participated in the school’s choir from ages 13-17, and took classical guitar lessons from ages 9-17.

    In 2009, Dana and her family moved back to Israel, and she began studying Music with a focus on Composition at the University of Haifa in 2012, continuing to an MA in composition in 2016.

    Dana was awarded first place in the Itay Weiner Composition Competition in 2015 with her piece “Swimming in Air” for Oud, Viola and Clarinet. The piece was performed in December 2nd 2015 at the University of Haifa.

    In 2016, Dana was awarded a scholarship from the American Israeli Cultural Foundation in the field of composition.
