Edo Hayek
Edo Hayek was born in Kiryat Tivon, Israel. He started his horn studies at the age of nine in Kiryat Tivon Conservatory. He graduated in 2015 from Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, studying bachelor’s in performance with Michael Slatkin. During this time he worked full time as 2nd horn in the Israel Sinfonietta. Today He is completing his Master’s degree in performance, solo instrument and chamber music, at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo.
Edo performs regularly with many orchestras including the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra and all major orchestras in Israel.
2012 – Solo horn in “Refidim Junction” chamber opera by Magret Wolf at Meinfranken Theater in Wurzburg, Germany.
2014 – Solo recital at the AICF spring competition for brass.
2012-2015 – Winner of chamber music scholarship for excellence in the Jerusalem Academy of Music.
2012-2014 – AICF Grant recipient.
