Equinote

Equinote is an Israeli Based non-for-profit organization. Equinote believes every child and adult has the right to experience culture as an inspiration for a creative and fulfilling life. Equinote makes culture accessible for people excluded from these inspirational sources because of physical and mental disabilities or cultural gaps.
Equinote promotes values of acceptance of others and diversity believing in the power of art to derive change and growth of the human spirit and society. Equinote develops new ways to experience music and culture in an accessible, enjoyable and inspirational way while maintaining high artistic quality and technological innovativeness.
Since the foundation of Equinote on July 2018, it has created and performed concerts for and with people with disabilities including “concert in the dark” performing Misa Criola in complete darkness (both the artists and the audience) as a tribute to the blind; concerts all around Israel with Roni Ginossar, an exceptional musician living with high functioning autism, telling her personal story; “Touching the sounds with Beethoven” a musical show designed for hard of hearing children. In addition, Equinote organized an Israeli-Palestinian conference on the subject of accessibility titled “Accessible Culture Without Borders” in which Israeli and Palestinians presented developments of technology and ideas on making culture accessible. This conference, in collaboration with the Ministry of Regional Cooperation and the Kfar Saba Municipality, later led to a full day of accessible performances in Kfar Saba.
“Touching the Sounds with Beethoven” has won the Israeli Accessibility Award of 2018.
