Eran El-Bar

Composer, director of the Maalot-Tarshicha music center and founder of Havrutav*, an elementary school program in music studies and Hebrew poetry.
Eran gives lectures to music teachers and general educators about music as a source of inspiration for education.
He is a board member of the Israel Culture Center in Budapest, Hungary, which he founded in 2010. Prior to these roles, Eran was the director of the partnership between global Jewish communities and the city of Nahariya and the region of the Western Galilee, for the Jewish Agency for Israel.
Eran also served as a Jewish Agency educational emissary and its central representative in Central-Eastern Europe; director and founder of the Encounters club for music and Hebrew Poetry in Jerusalem (2001-2003); and vice principal of the Workshop conservatory in Jerusalem.
Eran released an album in which he composed the lyrics of poets Lea Goldberg, Zelda and Hamutal Bar-Yosef and has recently produced another album named With Other Powers. In addition, Eran performs regularly with the Sounds between Man and G-d ensemble, which exhibits the connection between music and Jewish identity.
Eran gives lectures on Music, Israeli culture and Judaism, and develops educational and leadership programs inspired by these fields.
Eran holds a B.A. in musicology and philosophy and a teaching certificate from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and an M.A. in interdisciplinary education in Oranim Academic College. He also studied composition and pedagogy in the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest.
