Gal Varon

Gal was born in Israel in 1998 and has been playing the bassoon since the age of 12. She studied in the class of IPO’s Daniel Mazaki, and today she is perusing a Bachelor’s degree in the Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin, in the class of Mor Biron. Among her instructors are Klaus Thunemann and Emmanuel Pahud.
Gal is a sought after freelancer in the Israeli classical music scene and has played with the IPO, Israel Chamber Orchestra, the Tel-Aviv Soloist ensemble and many more. She is a member of a wind quintet that consists of players from the Jerusalem Camerata. She has performed in concerts and festivals all around the world, including venues in France, Slovenia, Switzerland, Germany and South Korea. She plays regularly in the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin.
Gal has received scholarships from the IPO’s Key Program and has been supported by the AICF since 2013. She has won the first prize in the Eran Zoldan competition in 2015.
