Gal Yacubovich
Gal Yacubovich was born in Israel in 1996. She began studying the violin at age seven. In 2009, Gal switched to viola and studied with Dr. Lilach Levanon. From 2010 to 2014, she studied classical music at Thelma Yellin high school.
Gal won a scholarship from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation in 2011-2016 and participates in The David Goldman Program for Outstanding Young Musicians of the Jerusalem Music Centre.
Gal played in various ensembles at the Givatayim Conservatory, under the guidance of Barak Tal and in various ensembles led by Nitai Tzori, as well as with the Givatayim Municipal Conservatory Orchestra.
Since 2010, Gal has been playing with The Young Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, leading the viola section. In the years 2012-2014, she led the viola section in the Thelma Yellin Orchestra.
In 2013-2014, she performed a solo part at the main concert of the Thelma Yellin Orchestra in Israel and abroad.
In 2015, Gal joined the IDF as an outstanding musician and began studying at Tel Aviv University’s Buchmann-Mehta Academy of Music.
