Gali Balilius

Gali Balilius

Gali Balilius was born in 2004, in Kerem HaTeimanim neighborhood, Tel Aviv, to a single-parent family. From a young age, he was drawn to music and drums and began his formal music education at the age of 8.
Gali studied at the Jaffa Orchestra under a teacher for the left-handed drum-set and later switched to a right-handed drum-set under teacher Henry Vered. A year later, he received an excellence scholarship from the Tel Aviv-Jaffa municipality.

Gali studied at Ironi Aleph for arts high school, majoring in physics and music. He completed the program with a score of 100 in his recital, received an excellence award, and a scholarship to Rimon School of Music.

Thanks to his music program, Gali had the opportunity to meet wonderful musicians. Alongside some of these musicians and others from different schools, he formed a band called Spit Band, where he wrote and composed most of the songs. Spit Band released an album titled "Demos" in 2023.

Through the Tel Aviv music scene, Gali also met additional musicians, including David Noi, with whom he released the album "Nehorai" in 2024.

After graduation, Gali sought ways to enrich his technique and began studying jazz with David Sirkis, who introduced him to the program in collaboration with the New School of Shtriker, where he started studying about 4 months later.

Currently, Gali studies with Daniel Dor, serves in the Air Force Band, is starting his second year at Shtriker, and is simultaneously working on various projects, including recordings, gigs, and a major album that he almost entirely composed and wrote on his own.
