Gil Even‐Tsur Is An Architect, Designer And An Educator.
At An Early Age Gil Was Active In The Arts, Playing The Saxophone And Practicing Music At The Jerusalem Academy Of Music And Dance.
After Receiving His Bachelor Of Architecture From City College Of New York School Of Architecture (Magna Cum Laude) And Winning The Best Thesis Honor For His Design Of A Spiritual Center Building, Gil Began Working For The Pritzker Award Recipient Richard Meier.
During His Nine Years At Richard Meier & Partners, Gil Had The Opportunity To Work On Numerous Outstanding Projects. Most Notable Is The Design For The AIA Prize-Winning Condominium, 165 Charles Street Located In Manhattan’s Greenwich Village, And Ara Pasic, A Museum On The Bank Of Tiber River In Rome, Italy.
After Completion Of 165 Charles Street, Gil Also Served As A Project Architect Of The Luxury Residential Tower ‘Meier On Rothschild’ In The Center Of The White City Of Tel Aviv, Israel. Gil Acted Both As The Design Architect For The Project, And As The Israeli Liaison, Mediating Between The Design Team In New York And The Execution Team In Israel.
In His Work, Gil Strives To Bridge Cultural Differences By Bringing Exceptional Architecture To His Beloved City, Tel Aviv, And His Adopted City, New York.
For The Past 5 Years, Gil Has Studied And Developed Synagogue Building Types For Both Religious And Secular Communities Throughout Israel And The US. The Premise Of Such Sensitive Work Is To Examine The Diverse Denotations Of New Synagogue Building Types In Modern Jewish Life. Gil Is Currently Working On A Book And Exhibition About Synagogue Building Types.
He Is An Adjunct Professor At The New York Institute Of Technology School Of Architecture And Design And Frequently Acts As A Visiting Critic At City College School Of Architecture, Pratt Institute, Columbia University and The Cooper Union.
Gil Even-Tsur AIA Is A Registered Architect In New York State And In Israel.
Recently, Gil’s Architecture Workshop Was Selected As Finalist In Competition To Design The Israel
National Library.
