About Guy Tal

Guy Tal was born in 2001 in Ra'anana, Israel. He is a pupil at the Thelma Yellin High School.

Since 2009, Guy has been studying classical saxophone with Jonathan Chazan, and jazz with Yuval Cohen. Has been studying cello since 2014 with Zvi Plesser.

Guy plays cello in the Thelma Yellin Symphony Orchestra.

He plays with the Young Tel Aviv Saxophone Quartet, led by Gan Lev, in the Israel Conservatory of Music in Tel Aviv.

In July 2014, He participated in the Rimon–Berklee summer workshop week for young jazz musicians at Kibutz Kfar Giladi, in a master class with saxophonist Tia Fuller.

In December 2014, he participated in a master class with the Saxophone Professor Idit Shner and in a master class with the Guitar player and composer Jonathan Albalak.

In August 2015, he participated in the International Seminar of the Jerusalem Academy for Strings, in master classes with Frans Helmerson, Orfeo Mandozzi and Michal Koreman.

In October 2015, he participated in a master class with the Saxophonist Kenneth Radnofsky.

In March 2016, he participated in a master class with Gary Hoffman, as well as with Hillel Zori and Shmuel Magen as part of the David Goldman Program for Outstanding Young Musicians.

In April 2016, he participated in master classes with Prof. Amit Peled.

In August 2016, he participated in a summer seminar with Prof. Mandozzi of the Académie Musicale de Morges, Switzerland.

In 2012, Guy won the second prize in the Young Soloist category in the Spring Competition at the Ra’anana Music Center.

In 2013, Guy won the second prize in the Young String Instruments category in the Spring Competition at the Raanana Music Center.

He is the recipient of an Excellence Scholarship in classical saxophone from the America- Israel Cultural Foundation for 2015-2016.
