The IsraeliJazz project was founded by the French photographer Raphael Perez in 2017, developed in 2020 and launched in October 2022.
The project presents Israeli jazz from the 1930s until today. It is a multimedia project that will combine a printed book, events, and a series of exhibitions with a website and social networks.
The IsraeliJazz project includes a book, a series of photography exhibitions, and an online presence through a new website. The goal of the project is to explain how jazz started in Israel and how this country became a major player in the jazz arena with several hundreds of professional musicians performing globally.
The work has been supported by research made by Raphael Perez in cooperation with musicology specialists and his own photographic works.
