    Originally from Zichron Ya’akov, Israel, Itai is currently in his third year of pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Tuba Performance in Indiana University under the guidance of Provost Professor Daniel Perantoni. Prior teachers include Adi Hershko of the Israel Philharmonic and Avital Handler. Itai is the principal tubist of the Minnesota Opera orchestra since January 2016. He had held the same position with the 2016 Pacific Music Festival orchestra, touring across Japan under the baton of Valery Gergiev.

    Itai has performed as a soloist with the Israel Camerata Jerusalem under the baton of Lahav Shani (2013). He had also served in the IDF Band (2011-2014). During that time, he was an avid freelancer for most regional orchestras across Israel.

    Itai is supported by AICF Scholarships from 2011, and had won the excellence scholarship since 2015. Other prizes include 3rd place in the 2016 ITEA Artist Tuba Competition, held in the 2016 International Tuba-Euphonium conference in Nashville, Tennessee. He had also been a finalist (3rd place) for the Arnold Jacobs Orchestral Mock Tuba Competition in the same conference.
