Itamar Esformes

Itamar started his musical journey in 2008 with his first piano teacher, Mrs. Ruth Zuri from the Kiryat Ono Conservatory. In 2017 he started studying with Prof. Arnon Erez from the Tel-Aviv University Buchmann-Mehta School of Music and simultaneously with Mrs. Hana Shalgy. In 2021, Itamar started studying with Prof. Emanuel Krassovsky, also at the BMSM. In 2019 Itamar graduated from the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts with excellence, and he was accepted for the IDF special program for musicians. As part of the IDF music excellence program, in parallel for his military service Itamar started studying for his first degree in music performance in the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music. Itamar completed his army service in February 2022, and is currently studying for the last year of his music degree. Itamar participated in many musical activities, concerts, courses, and masterclasses. Among others, Itamar participated in summer courses abroad in Halle (Germany, 2015), Nice (France, 2016), Perugia (Italy, 2017), ISSA (Austria, 2022) and at the "Aspen Music Festival and School" (USA 2023) with a full scholarship on behalf of the "Polonsky Foundation Fellowship award". As a part of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, Itamar was awarded with scholarships in the past 5 years, and receives annual scholarships for the BMSM as well, bestowed for music excellence. In addition, Itamar participates on a casual basis in concerts for nursing homes as a contribution to the community. Together with his piano trio, Itamar has won the second prize in the BMSM chamber music competition. In January 2023 he won the 3rd prize in the National Israeli Pnina Zaltzman Competition, where he played with the Haifa Symphonic Orchestra at the finals, and the 1st prize for chamber music stage. With the BMSM Symphony Orchestra, Itamar played the 3rd Piano Concerto by S.Prokofiev under the baton of the renowned German conductor Christian Ehwald. Further, Itamar has been invited to give recitals on "Kol Hamusika" radio station at the "Eden-Tamir Music Center" in Jerusalem, as part of the young musicians concert series. Above all, Itamar plays and works on a regular basis with vocalists, whether it is in the field of opera or in the field of artistic songs. He is appreciated by many important vocal teachers in Israel and is often invited to play with chamber choirs and vocal ensembles around the country.
