About Jonathan Berk

Jonathan Berk began his musical path with Saxophone studies at the Qiryat Tivon Conservatory (2006-2015, diploma recital), with studies in music theory, jazz improvisation and participation in youth band orchestras (including section leading and conducting).

Jonathan has played with Haifa's symphonic orchestra and had additional concerts with the direction of Mrs. Naomi Rogel's ensemble, formed by her students. Since then Jonathan has presented multiple programs of various character, collaborating with other young early musicians in Israel. Today Jonathan is marketing director of the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra.

Reut high school for arts, Haifa 2012-2015 – music faculty graduate with excellency, including solfeggio, conducting, improvisation, composition and ensemble playing (saxophone/basso continuo).

Harpsichord studies – with Mrs. Marisa Mecker 2013-2015, currently with Mr. Aviad Stier (2020-)

Organ studies – with Mrs. Hilla Katz 2015-2016, currently with Mr. Gideon Meir (2021-)

Participation in early music seminars: 2013 (saxophone) and 2014 (harpsichord) at the Israeli music conservatory, Tel Aviv, including masterclasses with Rinaldo Alessandrini, David Shemer, Genevieve Blanchard and Idit Shemer. 2018-2019, 2021 KUG early music faculty summer course, including masterclasses with Mr. Michael Hell.

Since 2014, Jonathan has been playing basso continuo for recordings and competitions (AICF of 2018, 2020. Certificate of appreciation in 2022).
