Layla Klinger

Layla was born and raised in Tel Aviv. She took up crocheting at 19 and ever since decided to dedicate her life to working with textiles and fibres. Her works deal with queerness, feminism, and obsession through slow craft processes, utilizing the highly gendered perception of the textile crafts she chooses. Her creations are mostly knitted or embroidered, and she is completely devoted to textiles as the basis of everything she makes.
Layla is a recent graduate of the Textile Design department of Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art, specializing in Knit. She spent a semester studying at The Swedish School of Textiles in Borås, Sweden, and was an intern in a bespoke embroidery studio in London.
She is currently living in New York, interning at the design and yarn development studio at Lion Brand Yarns.
