Lior Herchkovitz

Lior Herchkovitz (b. 1972, Tel Aviv, Israel) is a photographer based in Tel Aviv.
Lior received his academic training at The Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, The Netherlands. His photographs have been exhibited around the world in museums, galleries, art fairs and photo festivals; among them: Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Muza Eretz Israel Museum, MACT / CACT Museo & Centro Arte Contemporanea Switzerland, Landeshaus Cologne, Museo de Arte de la Universidad Nacional, Bogotá, and Foto Festival Naarden.
His works have also been published in books, magazines, catalogs and are in public and private collections worldwide.
Whether photographing a landscape or portraiture, Herchkovitz’s artistic approach is equally concerned with the uncertainty of the human condition and the emotions it conveys. Influenced by artists of the past, the form of his aesthetics is frequently based on art history references, tackling the relationship of photography to painting while in other is reminiscent of film stills.
