Maya Cohen

Maya Cohen is an NYC-based Israeli singer and actress. Maya developed her extraordinary vocal talent in the voice department of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance where she was trained in classical singing. During her time at JAMD, Maya performed leading roles in operettas and musicals and flourished in both. Her love for Musical Theatre brought her to New York City by way of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Maya completed the AMDA integrated program in February of 2020 and is currently studying in the HB International Students Program.
Credits include:
Cinderella in the Israeli premiere of Into the Woods by Stephan Sondheim, as part of the Israel Festival. Yemima in Dan Ha’Shomer by Mark Lavry (the first Israeli opera in Hebrew), performed in the National Library of Israel, for the first time since its premiere in 1945. Maya was also a soloist in the reputable Sirenot Ensemble from 2007-2014, performing in their piece Hapinkas Patuach, Winner of the Israel Minister of Culture’s Award. Also with Sirenot Ensemble, alongside the wonderful Israeli actor Dror Keren, Maya performed in I’m Forbidden to Sing – a concert dedicated to the works of Israeli playwright, Hanoch Levine.
