Michael Getman

Michael Getman is a choreographer and performer, born in Israel to Dora Karolin & Zacharia Getman.
He examines and is curious about the relationship between our bodily actions, cognitive responses, subjective experiences, and the ability to respond to the ongoing demands of experience with a range of emotions.
As a dancer Michael had the privilege to learn and experiment with a variety of creative practises and work methods; interpreting works by choreographers such as Ohad Naharin, Amanda k Miller, Marguerite Donlon, William Forsythe, Shintaro Oue, Michael Schumacher.
Since 2007 he has been developing his own work and choreographic structure.
He was commissioned as a choreographer to create and to share artistic experiences, utilizing various forms of choreographic expressions.
His work has been performed in various venues and festivals as the Suzanne Dellal Centre (Israel), The Israel Museum, Holland Dance Festival, Nowy Teatr (Poland), Theatre National de Chaillot (Paris), Kenzo-Bercy arena, Open Look Festival, Graz Opera House, SpringBoard Danse Montreal and Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg.
Michael has been awarded the choreographic prize at the International choreography contest: Cross Connection Ballet (Denmark), and the choreographic competition No Ballet (Germany).
Michael continues his artistic search and choreographic exploration by collaborating with various artists from the field of Theatre, Dance, Music, Literature and Visual Arts.
