Michael Roessler

Born in Jerusalem in 1993, and studied Bassoon with Richard Paley and Maurizio Paez.
A graduate of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance High School and the winner of the Solo Performers Contest for 12th grade students as well as the Amitai Rokem scholarship. During these years he participated regularly in the Young Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra.
While his pre-military year in a Mechina Program he produced a series of music concerts to his peers, Kibbutz members and other residents of the Northern Negev (including Bedouins). Served in IDF as an Excellent Musician.
Currently studies at the JAMD in last year of B.A. under Maurizio Paez and regularly wins scholarships for his participation in chamber music ensembles. He is regularly participating in the Jerusalem-Weimar Orchestra Project under the conductor Michael Sanderling.
Michael combines playing with most leading Israeli orchestras and classical ensembles and participation in various modern and experimental projects such as Meitar Ensemble, “Castle in Time” project, the Lab Orchestra and the Jerusalem Street Orchestra. He brings the unique sound of the Bassoon to unusual platforms such as an open-air concert with Knesiyat Hasekhel rock band, clubs and Indie music festivals.
Michael is a recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation biennial excellence scholarship since 2007.
