Naama Hadany
Naama Hadany (b.1983) is an Israeli artist working within the media of sculpture and drawing. Her practice is a research lab examining and exploring material manipulations within the close affinity between nature, environments and survival. Incorporating methods of mimicry, imitation, camouflage and assimilation she creates new amalgamations using synthetic materials with organic substances.
She holds a B.Ed.F.A, from Midrasha School of Art in Israel and is currently an MFA candidate at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Hadany is the recipient of the 2010 Sculpture Studies Scholarship and the 2011 Graduate Scholarship for Sculpture from America-Israel Cultural Foundation. In 2012 she was awarded the New Artist Society Merit Scholarship of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Recent exhibitions include the 5th Fresh Paint Art Fair, solo exhibition in Lohamei Hagetaot Gallery in Israel and ‘Surface Tension’ group show at the Sullivan Galleries in Chicago.
