Naum Goldenstein

Naum Goldstein is a third generation clarinet player, whose unique, colorful sound has been widely praised. He has been playing solo concerts since the age of fifteen. He graduated from the Jerusalem Academy of Music, where he studied with Yevgeny Yehudin (Principal clarinet, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra). Other teachers include Ilya Schwartz Principal clarinet, Camerata Orchestra) Michael Gurfinkel (Principal clarinet, Israeli Opera Orchestra), and currently Charles Neidich. He has taken master classes with Sabine Meyer,Giora Feidman, Philippe Cuper, Alexander Fiterstein, Eli Even, Richard Lesser, and Guy Deplus.
Goldenstein has over 9 years teaching experience, teaching both private and group instruction, at conservatories and schools including Migdal Haemek Community Center, Petach Tikva Conservatory of Music, Kfar Yona School of Music, Tel Aviv Conservatory, and recently the Conservatory of Netanya.
Freelance work includes playing with Mozart Divertimento Trio on Israel Classical Music Station, and with the Symphony Orchestra of Raanana, and the Israel Chamber Orchestra. He has worked on numerous new music projects with young upcoming composers, is the recipient of numerous scholarships including a scholarship from the American-Israel Culture foundation, and was selected by professor Eli Eban to perform a solo concerto at the Jerusalem Music Center. He performed with Giora Feidman at Clarinet Klezmer Galilee Festival, Tzfat.
Goldenstein is fluent in Russian, Hebrew and English. Naum lives in New York with his wife, writer and actor Alexandra Zelman-Doring.
