Nerya Zidon

Nerya Zidon is a professional saxophonist, composer, music producer and audio engineer based in Boston, Massachusetts.
Zidon has been active in the Israeli music scene since 2005. At first as a classical saxophonist (AICF scholar in 2007/08), member of the prestigious Jerusalem Saxophone Quartet, and Jerusalem Saxophone Orchestra, and later on as a jazz musician and composer.
In 2011, Zidon was granted an “Outstanding Musician” status by The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and was admitted into the prestigious IDF Orchestra, as a lead saxophonist and soloist. Upon finishing his 3-years mandatory service, Zidon was accepted into the prestigious ‘Rimon Jazz Institute’ program, where he studied with some of Israel’s best jazz musicians.
In 2015, Zidon auditioned to the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, and received a full scholarship towards his undergraduate studies. He graduated with honors, studying Music Production & Engineering in 2018, and went on to receive yet another full scholarship to attend one of the best jazz graduate programs in the world – the ‘Berklee Global Jazz Institute’. The program is directed by multiple GRAMMY award winner pianist Danilo Perez, and has jazz legends Terri Lyne Carrington, Joe Lovano, George Garzone, Dave Liebman and many others as faculty.
Since graduating in honors with his master’s degree, Zidon has been very active in the Boston music scene as a saxophonist/composer/band leader, as well as a music producer, recording & mixing engineer in various genres.
Throughout his career, Zidon has worked and performed with music giants such as Billy Cobham, Zakir Hussain, John Patitucci, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Tigran Hamasyan. He performed at prestigious venues including the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, TD Toronto Jazz Festival, Red Sea Jazz Festival, Tel Aviv Museum, Jerusalem Theater and others
