Noa Kurnick

Noa’s artistic practice deals with the many faces of the charged city and the detachment feeling that follows her, as if all might fall apart within seconds. Some kind of survival instinct which you must take on and which doesn’t allow you to breathe peacefully. She finds interest in those moments and people which mix in the city.
Noa works in a performative way, with expressive painting that follows a theme she devotes herself to and whose rules she obeys. The project becomes her ruler and changes her routine completely; when she embraces the new life and enjoys every second of it. She is moved by the extreme situations she finds herself in, which set new restrictions that proliferate her line.
In Noa’s belief, the studio and the gallery are not detached from daily life – they cooperate with and react to one another, and the faces she sees on the streets enter her paintings – which makes limitations a crucial part of her work.
