Noam Heinz Lowenstein is a British-American-Israeli baritone. Noam was born in 1997 and is in the final year of his bachelor’s degree in music, at Tel Aviv University’s Buchmann Mehta School of Music, under Efrat Ben Nun.
Noams recent performances include the role of Papageno with the Meitar Opera Ensemble, the Younger Brother in “Dead Man Walking” and Crete man in “Idomeneo” with the Israel Opera, and Sabo in Offenbach’s operetta “Die Klassische Witwe” with the Ramat Gan Chamber Orchestra. During this season he also premiered an Israeli Italian Opera, “Il Mago”, in Venice.
In the 2018-2019 season, Noam performed a number of roles from Leonard Bernstein’s “Candide” with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Marin Alsop, among them the Captain and the Rogue. Other roles debuted that year include Masetto from Mozart’s“Don Giovanni”, Bob from Menotti’s “The Old Maid and the Thief” and Gasparo in Donizetti’s “Rita” with the Ramat Gan Chamber Orchestra.
Noam has performed as a soloist with the Israel Philharmonic, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Israel Netanya Kibbutz Orchestra, Ra’anana Symphonette Orchestra, Tel Aviv Soloists, the Buchmann Mehta Symphony, the Ramat Gan Chamber Orchestra, The Orfeus Ensemble, the Israel Symphony Rishon-LeZion Orchestra, and more. He has been awarded masterclasses with notable musicians including Thomas Hampson, Thomas Quasthoff, Dan Ettinger, Chen Reiss, Jennifer Larmore, and more.
His awards include first prize in the Buchmann Mehta Vocal competition, a full scholarship from the Israel America Cultural Foundation(2016-2019), the Ronen Foundation(2016-2019), an excellence scholarship from the Tel Aviv University (2017-2019) and the Dr. Elie and Esther Foundation award for music citizenship(2016). Noam has also participated in international young artists programs such as the IVAI, IMVAJ, and Music Fest Perugia.
In Fall 2019 Noam completed his Israel Defense Forces service, where he served for nearly three years as an ‘outstanding musician’ (a status awarded to only three male opera singers in the previous seven years) and as a personal assistant to the head of the IDF’s Jewish Education department.
