About Oren Lok

Oren Lok has started his music education at 1996. From 2000 Oren has studied at the Conservatory of Herzliya with Dr. Mark Shaviner and graduated with excellence. Oren has studied composition with Dr. Ilya Heifetz, and performed his works in concert halls.

Oren has studied jazz with Rami Levin and he has participated in the national conferences of young composers and Jazz players. Oren has played the second concerto of Saint – Saens with the Herzliya Chamber Orchestra in 2008.

Oren has served in the army as an outstanding musician, and played in the army bands. Oren is currently studying in Buchmann – Mehta music school with Prof. Asaf Zohar. In 2011, Oren has won the first prize in the competition for best Israeli piece performance at Tel-Hai international Master classes, and performed at the Tel Aviv Museum in broadcasted concert.

From 2007 to 2011 Oren has participated in the Tel-Hai International Masterclasses, and he has played for Benjamin Hochman, Julia Lipmanovich, Tatiana Zelikman, Dennis Matzuev, Pierre Reach, Vladimir Tropp, Tomer Lev and Alexander Mndoyantns among others.

Oren has received the America Israel Culture Foundation’s scholarship with piano playing profession at 2012, in addition to excellence scholarships from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music.
