Ori Sela

Ori Sela is an Israeli composer, and a recipient of an honorary certificate for creative excellence from the America Israel Cultural Foundation (AICF), 2022/2023.
He completed his Master’s degree in composition in the class of Prof. Amnon Wolman In 2022, at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance (JAMD). During his Master’s studies he spent the winter semester of 2020/21 as an Erasmus+ scholar at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, studying with Prof. Jan Müller-Wieland.
Sela has also won a scholarship for academic excellence from the Association of Israelis of Central European Origin. He earned his Bachlor’s degree in the joint program of the Hebrew University and JAMD, studying interdisciplinary composition in the class of Rafi Kadishson.
The first movement of his string quartet “Autumn Reflections of a Maple Tree” was recorded in Munich in 2021. His Sextet “Mother Nature” for Flute, Clarinet, Bassoon, Violin, Viola and Cello premiered at the CEME festival 2023 by ‘Meitar Ensemble’, after winning their open call for musical scores. Other Ensembles that have performed his works include the Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva (2022) and Tedarim ensemble (2018).
