About Orit Ishay

Orit Ishay, B. 1961 Tel Aviv Jaffa, Lives and works in Tel Aviv, active artis in the fields of photography and Video Art. A lecturer of Photography and Creative Place Making studies at Sapir School of Art Academic College.

Studies: Post graduated of The Fine Arts Program at Hamidrasha Faculty of The Arts, Beit Berl Academic College (2012, with honors). In 2007 graduated with honors from the Arts in Education Program at David Yellin College; in 2006 I graduated with honors from the Photography Department at Musrara School of Photography, Media & New Music, Jerusalem.

Grants and awards: ARAC-Artist in Residence program Bucharest (2018); Petach Tikva Museum – video production grant(2015); Artist in Residence Árad- Art-architecture’ program, Arad, IL(2015); Guest Artist In Residence Studio Program, The Artists’ Studios, Jerusalem, IL(2015); Museum Quartier Wien, Quartier21 Artist-in-Residence Studio Program(2014); Jerusalem Print Workshop, a scholarship for a yearly new project & exhibition(2012); The Gottesman Etching Center, Residency and grant for creating a project , Kibbutz Cabri, IL (2011); the Yehoshua Rabinovich Foundation for the Arts (2009); Recipient of the Sharett Scholarship, awarded by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation – Sharett Creative Exellence Grant (2006-7 and 2007-8);

Ishay’s work is represented in a number of public and private collections, among them: Mumok Museum of Modern Art Vienna; MOCAK Museum of Contemporary Art Krakow Poland; The Israel Museum, Jerusalem; CCA Tel Aviv Video Archive; Ashdod Art Museum; Bank Ha’poalim; America-Israel Cultural Foundation; private collections in Israel and abroad.
