Ricardo Ferreira

Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, violinist Ricardo Ferreira started studying music at age four.
He attended the State Music Conservatory in Sao Paulo and also several music festivals
in Brazil and participated in violin and chamber music masterclasses with Erick
Friedman, Boris Belkin, the Fine Arts and the Modigliani String Quartets.
Former concertmaster of Sao Paulo State School String Orchestra, Sao Paulo University
Chamber Orchestra and Callis Camerata, he was the prizewinner in the Violin and Piano
Duo Category of the First National Competition for Young Interpreters of Brazilian
Music.
He has been an active teacher and coach offering private instruction since 2000 and
beginning in 2002 he started coaching young chamber music groups and Orchestra
String sectionals.
He holds degrees from Sao Paulo State University, DePaul University and University of
Tennessee where his principal teachers were Luiz Amato, Olga Kaler and Mark
Zelmanovich.
Living in Israel since 2018, Ricardo is currently working as a guest with several orchestras
and continuing with his pedagogical activities.
