Ronit Joy Holtz (b. 1997, United States) traveled throughout North America and numerous European countries before moving with her family to Kadima, Israel, when she was ten. She later received a B.F.A in painting with academic honors at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Ronit resides in Tel Aviv as a studio artist and art educator. Her practice explores ways to tap into trauma and cope using mixed media and found objects. Her recent studio work explores ways to tap into pain and trauma and cope with it creatively using mixed media or found objects infused with nostalgia and personal sentiment.
“I am interested in the alchemy of materials, which speaks literally and metaphysically in my paintings. As a spiritual pilgrimage, my creative process involves relentless scavenging of objects to be placed inside my art. This creates a resurrection and harmony between the past and present. As a young girl, I dreamed of becoming an archeologist. My studio practices echo this today, as I constantly discover and collect fragments of the earth and her people. Like many artists before me, beside me, and in front of me, I create art to provide a space of healing, intention, and light. My most recent work displays this in hopes to mirror the testament of the human spirit's resilience and capacity for renewal.”
