Shachar Vaisvaser

Shachar dances at DanceWorks, where the artistic directors and teachers are Ivica Bago and Limor Ziv.

She started dancing when she was a little girl and since then she fell in love with it. Shachar dances contemporary dance and classical ballet (including point work and variations), close to 25 hours a week, and she also majors in dance at her high school.

Shachar participated in the YAGP (Youth America Grand Prix) competitions and won: In 2022 - Top 12 award for her contemporary solo (‘Sovereign’ by Ivica Bago) YAGP Barcelona. In 2023 - 1st place with her contemporary solo (‘Black Ice’ by Ivica Bago), 1st place in a duet (‘Valerian Youth’ by Ivica Bago) and ensembles YAGP Verona. In 2024 - 1st place in the duet and Top 12 in the ensemble category, with an invitation to perform in the GALA at the Lincoln center, YAGP finals in New York.

Shachar was also invited to PID (Premio International Danza) dance competition in Italy with her classical variation (‘Harlequinade’, working with Limor Ziv) and with her contemporary solo (‘Black Ice’). There she participated in workshops with professional choreographers, won 1st place with her contemporary piece and received several scholarships and invitations to summer courses.

In Israel Shachar participated in the DWC (Dance World Cup) competition: in 2023 she won third place with her classical variation (‘Walpurgis’, working with Limor Ziv) and 1st place with her contemporary solo. In 2024 she won 2nd place with her classical variation.

In 2024 Shachar was awarded the AICF (Keren Tarbut America-Israel) scholarship for contemporary dance.
