Shai Zohar
Shai Zohar was born in 1995 in Israel. He was 4 when he began his musical studies, and studied with his mother. Shai graduated with his bachelors from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music with the guidance of Tomer Lev in Tel
Aviv. He is now continuing his Masters studies in Manhattan School of Music with Alexandre Moutouzkine and in Brooklyn college, with Ursula Oppens in New York City.
Shai won the second prize in the “Psanter Letamid” piano competition in Ashdod- Israel, the jury prize in “Leopold Bellan” competition in Paris- France, the first place in the “Empire State” piano competition in New York, the first place in the “Princeton Festival” piano competition in New Jersey, and the first place in “north” piano competition, Stockholm- Sweden.
He participated in masterclasses with Ilana Vered- musicfest Perugia in Italy, the Gingold chamber music festival in Florida, Tel Hai piano masterclasses- Israel, and Aspen Music festival and School- Colorado.
He played in mastercless for Ilana Vered, Emanuel Ax, Yuja Wang, Jerome Lowenthal, Dimitry Bashkirov, and many more.
Shai was a soloist with the Ashdod symphony orchestra, Tel-Aviv soloists orchestra, Conductors Orchestra in Aspen music festival, and Elicant symphony orchestra in Perugia.
He played recitals and concerts throughout
Israel, United States, French and Italy.
Shai is a winner of the American-Israeli cultural foundation, the Ronen foundation for supporting the arts, and Zfonot-Tarbut music foundation.
