Shalom Hai

Shalom Hai was born and raised in Jerusalem, in the urban kibbutz “Beit Israel” at the Gila Absorption Center.
In 2016, after full military service, he worked as an assistant to the painter Iche Schwartz, at the Arts Center at Kibbutz Neot Smadar.
Shalom began his undergraduate studies in fine arts in 2018 at the Bezalel Academy. As part of his studies, Ihe participated in a student exchange program in Germany at the Burg Giebichnstei Academy and got to know and work with the artist Tilo Baumgartel.
In August 2021, Hai participated in a group exhibition at the “Grande Garage” gallery in Vienna, Austria. Later that year, he participated in the “Micha Kirchner Prize for Photography Exhibition” at the WIZO Gallery, Haifa.
In 2020, Shalom won the support of the “Ariel” Foundation on behalf of the Culture Department of the Jerusalem Municipality for Young Artists. In 2022, he received the prize for excellence in art by Musia Tolman and the art department, Bezalel.
Image and matter have a significant presence in Hai’s work, he has a keen interest in connecting physical and mental matter into pulsating environments of occurrence.
