About Sharon Dvorin

Sharon Dvorin, born in England in 1974, started her musical education as a trombone player. While a student at the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem she studied voice. Soon she appeared in operatic productions of the Academy, then entered the Israeli Opera Tel Aviv-Yafo and the Jerusalem Music Center Program for Young Artists for two years.

Ms. Dvorin has participated in numerous master classes, including the Israel Vocal Arts Institute (IVAI) summer program with Joan Dornemann, the London master class for singers with soprano Nelly Miricioiu and the Accademia Dell’arte Master Classes Arezzo, Italy, 2005.

Ms. Dvorin is a recipient of IVAI and AICF scholarships.

She has participated in many opera productions at the Israeli Opera and has sung with most of the important orchestras throughout the country. Ms.Dvorin has sung with Maestro Zubin Mehta and under the baton of other important conductors such as Asher Fisch, Dan Ettinger and Noam Sheriff. She appeared in the world premiere of Gil Shohat’s opera Max and Moritz. She has performed an Israeli premiere of Letter to Warsaw by Thomas Pasatieri a song cycle by Pola Braun at Yad Vashem. Amongst the many productions and concerts Sharon took place in;

Performed the role of Donna Anna under the baton of maestro Noam Sheriff. (07.05)

She performed the Role of Marianne in Der Rosenkavalier production under the baton of Maestro Asher Fisch / Maestro Arthur Fagon and the Role of The First Lady in Die Zauberflöte conducted by Maestro Dan Ettinger/ Omer Welber ,both at the Israeli Opera House.

Performed the role of Achinoam in the Opera Shaul (Moshe Zorman) 01/07, A youth concert with IPO 24/01/07 and the role of La Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi/Puccini) at the Israeli Opera House-Fisch/Calderon -06-07/07.

Took part in the Opera production based on the The Metamorphosis of Kafka by Ron Weidberg as the Mother. (12.08)

Performed the parts of the Angel and the Shepherd at the Abu Gosh music festival in “Lauda per la nativita del Signore”- Respighi conducted by Hanna Tzur (10/2008). Took part in the Biennial for Contemporary Music with songs by Ron Weidberg and Meitar ensemble 02-03/09.

Sang the soprano part in the Beethoven Mass under the baton of Maestro Avner Biron and the Israel Camerata orchestra (06/2009). Sang the soprano part in the German requiem of Brahms conducted by Hanna Tzur. (2009 & in 09.2010)

Sang the soprano solo part conducted by Mr. Avner Itay Abu Gosh festival. (10.10)

Took part in the play about Alexander pen and Hanna Rubina at the Cameri Theater (06/2008-2009).

Took part in the Childs dream Production; an Opera by Hanoch Levin/ Gil Shohat at the Israeli Opera and on israeli tour to Wiesbaden Opera house. (2010 & 2012)

Took and takes part in special recitals at Abu-Gosh festival and more.

Sang and sings in Fringe & Contemporary Opera productions & Concerts.

Recently took part in a Fringe Opera production called Yvonne by Gilad ben David. (02.13)
