About Sharon Polyak

Sharon Polyak was born in Israel in 1982. Among his teachers are Yaakov Kling and Chezi Nir. He studied at the Hochschule of the Arts in Berlin with Prof. Christian Dallmann and was also a member of the Academy of the Staatskapelle Berlin. Sharon is a graduate of the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts.

He is Associate principle horn player of the Israel Symphony Orchestra. He is a recipient of the America-Israel Culture Foundation and also of the Barenboim-Said Foundation scholarships. Sharon participated in festivals in Germany, France, and in the International Chamber Music Festival in Jerusalem. Sharon is a member of the East-West Divan Orchestra whose conductor is Daniel Barenboim. He played solo with this orchestra in the US, South America and in various festivals in Europe, and also recorded with them a DVD. He appeared as a soloist with the Munich Radio Orchestra, the Israel Symphony Orchestra and with the Israel Chamber Orchestra.

In December 2005 he collaborated with Daniel Barenboim in a chamber music concert in New York. He is also a member of the World Peace Orchestra with Valerie Gergiev conducting. He has given recitals in Berlin, the British Embassy in Israel and at the Jerusalem music Center.
