Shimon Kontarge

Shimon Kontarge (b.1962,Tashkent, Uzbekistan) completed his studies in art at the Tashkent Art College in1985.

Following his immigration to Israel in 1991, and from 1997 onwards Kontarge participated in solo and group exhibitions.

Between 2000 to 2003, Kontarge worked on the design and decor of the Silver Spring Jewish Center in Maryland. His work included more than 15 paintings and murals. The colorful mosaic, like Kontarge's paintings, are done in a mixed media technique.
