Tal Ben Avi

Tal Ben Avi (b. 1990, Israel) studied at ‘Camera Obscura’ School of Photography. He continued his professional education through higher studies in fine arts at ‘Hamidrasha’ Faculty of Arts, graduating with a Summa Cum Laude Diploma in 2017. Tal is a past member of P8 Gallery in Tel Aviv.
Tal’s work process focuses on extracting a distinct image out of prosaic and esoteric visions.
His photos try to capture the moment just before it falls apart before the image is resolved as texture or a surface. The works express emotional contours of deserted spaces and desolate landscapes, creating a geography of intimacy, loss, absence and sometimes an eruption within the space.
