Tamar Haikin

Tamar Haikin studies at Thelma Yellin national school for the arts. From the age of 4 until today, she studied piano with her grandmother, Dina Haikin.
At the age of 9 Tamar started learning flute with Danny Kornberg, from whom she acquired her love for the flute, for which she will always be grateful to him. After Mr. Kornberg passed away, Tamar continued to study flute and piccolo with Uri Nahir.
Since 2017 she has been playing the first flute and piccolo section in the Beer Sheva Conservatory’s wind orchestra.
– 2018 Tamar began playing in the Conservatory Chamber Orchestra conducted by Barak Tal.
– 2019 First prize in a national group competition in theory level D.
Tamar played with the Be’er Sheva Sinfonietta in a concert conducted by Chen Zimbalista, and Gil Shohat. In October 2019 she was accepted into the Young National Youth Orchestra and participated in all camps.
In February 2020, Tamar won an encouragement prize in the national wind instrument competition in Kfar Saba. In July she won second place in the competition in the name of Serney, and a scholarship from the Salomon Foundation.
Since 2021 Tamar started studying composition with Dr. Marina Geller. She participated in Master Classes with Prof. Yossi Arnheim, Lior Eitan, Iris Ringer and Moshe Aron Epstein.
Since 2022, she is the Piccoloist at the Adult National Youth Orchestra. During this year she also won second prize in the “Sounds of Negev” competition.
Since March 2022, Tamar started taking flute lessons with Prof. Yossi Arnheim, in addition to lessons with Uri Nahir.
In the future, Tamar hopes to to be admitted to the Israel Young Philharmonic Orchestra and continue to develop in music.
