Tohar Gil is a Piano and Conducting student at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and dance (JAMD).
Professional experiment and Milestones
2019-2020 Participation in Erasmus one semester Program at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. Which includes orchestral conducting studies with Prof. Marcus Bosch and Prof. Georg Fritzsch, correpetition studies with Prof. Wolf Michael Storz. The program also includes participation in classes and rehearsals with orchestras such as the Munich Chamber Orchestra and the Munich Symphony orchestra among others. Winner of 2nd prize the Dina Turgeman chamber music competition in Jerusalem.
2018-2019 Winner of the “Program of excellence in Chamber Music” scholarship for outstanding musicians which includes participation in chamber music ensembles of outstanding classical music performance students at the JAMD. Prize winner and finalist in the Ashdod Piano competition. Winner of the American-Israel cultural foundation scholarship for 2018-19. Participation as a guest Pianist and a guest conductor at Koolulam projects. Piano accompanist at the vocal department of JAMD. Conducted at Composers for the memory of the Holocaust program; conducts regularly at the JAMD lab choir under the guidance of prof. Stanley Sperber; conducts at various occasions in the JAMD. Was chosen to perform in the international ‘Primavera Pianistica’ course in Belgium. Worked as a vocal coach and piano accompanist at the International Masterclass for Vocal Arts in Jerusalem (IMVAJ).
2016-2017 Accompaniment of the Operas “Die Zauberflote” of Mozart and “Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali” of Donizetti at IMVAJ.
2014-2018 Musical production of memorial ceremonies at Haifa, Israel.
2015 Participation at ‘Primavera Pianistica’ international masterclass in Belgium.
2014 Participation in the international masterclass ׳Euro Music Festival and Academy׳. Playing in personal lessons, masterclasses and concerts, Germany. Musical direction and original composition for a theater production in ’Hai-Po’ fringe theatre in Haifa. Chosen to play solo in Reut (WIZO) high school of arts with the school’s orchestra under the baton of maestro Barak Tal (Beethoven 3rd, 1st movement). 2012-2014 Piano teacher and accompanist.
