Yael Caffrey was born in 1983, Israel.
Graduated with honors from Hamidrasha School of Art, 2013.
Caffrey’s main medium is large scale colored pencil drawings, where she explores the tense emotional spaces, located between our tolerance for the abnormal and desire for aesthetic. She breaks down and reassemble images with a clear goal of provoking both discomfort and admiration within the piece itself, and by extension, in the viewer.
When living in Israel, Caffrey was a member of the cooperative art gallery- “P8”. Her works have been displayed in several solo and group exhibitions, including “Fresh Paint” Art Fair, and are included in many private collections.
She relocated to NYC in 2018 and currently works from her studio based in Brooklyn.
