About Ynon Lan

Ynon Lan was born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel.
He began his career as a Visual Effects artist working on television commercials for big brands. Ynon later went on to study classical animation at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. In his short films he combines 2D animation, stop motion, visual effects and live-action. His work received 3 Vimeo Staff Picks, and appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, Motionographer, Directors Notes and other leading magazines and blogs.

His graduation film, Close the Shutters, screened in over 30 film festivals worldwide, including the Jerusalem Film Festival, the Vienna Jewish Film Festival, the Moscow Jewish Film Festival, the Toronto Jewish Film Festival and the Israeli Cinema Festival in Paris.

The film received the Best Experimental Animated Film award at the Festival of European Student Animation in Serbia, and the Best Student Film award at Epos Film Festival in Tel-Aviv.

Ynon is currently working as a director and animator in New York.
