Some highlights from the video (translated):

  • Since her first concert at the age of 8, Danielle Akta has not stopped, and is conquering major concert halls worldwide, one by one. Twice a month she flies to Berlin to study in the Daniel Barenboim’s High Academy for Music.
  • Both of Akta’s parents play trumpet, and met as musicians in the IDF. “As a rule, you play [an instrument] in our house until the age of 18; then you can decide if you want to continue.” -Tamir Akta, Danielle’s father
  • “Generally speaking, we don’t lead her; We let her lead us” – Limor Akta, Danielle’s mother
  • “One cannot understand how a young girl, at that age, plays the way she plays. Danielle plays like a mature adult, and has control over the instrument that many mature cellists would be delighted to have.” -Oboist and teacher Guy Porat
