The America-Israel Cultural Foundation will celebrate its 69th year supporting Israeli arts and culture, and Israel’s 60th birthday with special performances by Emanuel Ax, current and former AICF scholarship recipients and an All-Star Israeli Jazz Band.
This gala event will honor Lorin Maazel, music director of the New York Philharmonic, and one of the world’s most esteemed and sought-after conductors, renowned pianist and teacher, Leon Fleisher.
Current and former AICF scholarship recipients performing are: the young virtuosos Semion Gavrikov, violin (top-prize winner at the Claremont and Aviv Competitions); Roman Rabinovich, piano (top-prize winner at the Artur Rubinstein and Aviv Competitions); and Einav Yarden, piano (prodigé of Leon Fleisher and top-prize winner at the Aviv Competitions).
The second act will feature the All-Star Israeli Jazz Band with Yaala Ballin, voice; Anat Cohen and Uri Gurvich, saxophones; Avishai Cohen, trumpet; Rafi Malkiel, trombone; Itai Kriss, flute; Gilad Hekselman, guitar; Omer Klein, piano; Tal Ronen, bass; and Dan Aran, drums. There will also be a performance with Omer Klein’s Septet featuring Omer Klein, piano; Haggai Cohen Milo, bass; Daniel Freedman, drums; Semion Gavrikov, violin; Guy Figer, violin; Amelia Hollander, viola; and Yoed Nir, cello.
