For the two concert evenings AUGMENTED INSTRUMENTS on May 22 and 23, 2019, the ensemble mosaik commissioned eight composers with new works or works for “extended ensemble”. Equipped with microphones, pad controllers and speakers, all musicians can manipulate the sound and spatial effect of their instruments. On May 22, 2019, Klaus Lang dives into the sound with a magnifying glass, creating audible parallel universes. Sarah Nemtsov constructs a complex network between the instruments in order to pursue the question of identity. Amir Shpilman develops mobile loudspeakers that let the sounds float above the heads of the audience or even allow a haptic sound experience. An event of ensemble mosaik, funded by Hauptstadtkulturfonds. The composition commission to Amir Shpilman * was awarded with the support of the Adele and John Gray Endowment Fund.
