Art exhibition: From A to Tav

New Art exhibition at the Rishon Lezion Artist House.

From Alef to Tav:
The Artists House in Rishon Le Zion, featuring the work of members of ‘Arteria’ group, artists who have immigrated from Latin America in their teens and now live and work in Israel.
As its name foretells, this exhibition deals with issues of language and ‘double culture’ – Spanish and Hebrew – which are common to all group members and stands at the very foundation of their identities, personalities and art. Many of the works show an effort to conserve something of the ‘homeland culture’ while expressing the emotional baggage and constant longing between here and there, which are an inevitable part of the physical and emotional process called ‘immigration’.
