Ella, Billie and the Founding Mothers of Jazz

In Honor of Women's History Month, join award-winning vocalist Thana Alexa and The MusicTalks Jazz Quartet as we celebrate the women of Jazz! Some of the most beloved jazz standards were actually written by women such as Lil Armstrong (the wife of Louis Armstrong) and Alice Coltrane (the wife of John Coltrane)! We will feature music by Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday and share the untold stories of the founding mothers of Jazz.
